BEFORE THE PRODUCT, THE POSITION.
A recommendation only makes sense after understanding the business, the owner, the dependencies and the consequences of each decision.
01 / UNDERSTAND
Ownership, cash flow, family, obligations, key people, existing coverage and long-term intent.
02 / IDENTIFY
Risks, dependencies, gaps, concentration, liquidity needs and ownership issues.
03 / CONNECT
What changes elsewhere if one decision changes? This is where second- and third-order consequences become visible.
04 / STRUCTURE
Insurance, investments, ownership funding and retirement planning within my professional scope, coordinated with accountants and lawyers when appropriate.
05 / REVIEW
Revisit the plan when the business changes: new debt, a new partner, growth, acquisition, family changes, ownership changes or an approaching exit.
WHAT I DON'T DO
I don’t begin with a product.
I don’t assume every business has the same problem.
I don’t replace your accountant or lawyer.
I don’t recommend complexity unless it solves a real problem.
GOOD PLANNING IS RARELY A SOLO PROFESSION.
When a decision touches tax, legal structure or corporate accounting, I coordinate with the appropriate professionals rather than pretending one advisor should do everything.
Business Owner ↔ Financial Security Advisor ↔ Accountant ↔ Lawyer
